Really fascinating. My parents moved into the end house in this terrace (the furthest away) in the early eighties. This corner stores was then Waplins, a carpet shop. Every Christmas they had a Christmas tree lit up over the door outside and their name in lights.
When I was living at my aunts housr, 41 Camperdown Street the corner shop was owned by an ejderly man, Bucky. He used to wear a brown warehouse coat in the shop and ride a delivery bike. He was always smoking and his fingers and lips were tobacco stained.
When I was living with my aunt in Camperdown st in 1953 the shop was called Belmont Stores.
